Default Honda Rubicon Tires

I'm looking at getting 27" ITP XTRs on my '06 Rubi, but I've been told it will drain some power. How bad is the decrease in performance and will I notice it in low-gear EPS (mud)?

Also debating on 12" or 14" rims.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

I have 27" ITP 589's on my 01 Rubicon... Honestly, i don't notice any loss of power... i keep neck and neck with a stock rubicon on straight aways....

the only time i got bogged down and lost power was when i took on water in the air box and engine... ewww....

If you are into high speed riding, then a 27" tire may not be for you, but if you like playing in the mud more, then a 27" will work fine on a rubicon

12" rims, better ride and less rim to catch an bash while rideing. im not posative, but the tire seletion is equal or greater for 12" rims. just my opnoin

Will I have to modify the Rubi so the 27" do not rub?

My 27" don't rub at all....

You can add a lift to get ground clearance, but i didn't modify mine at all.
