Can you guys suggest some good gloves for riding in the winter. i want them to be warm but also to still allow for finger movement. suggestions, links would be great !

Have ridden with my snowmobile gloves on fingers still got cold. Heated grips & gaurds sure helped alot though then were toasty warm.

 

Are you looking for riding gloves? In other words do you have a clutch?

When I'm plowing snow on my Ute I just wear big ski gloves......

But if I'm riding on my z400 I've used Moose XCR winter gloves, Shift and MSR winter gloves too...... a lot of glove makers have a winter option but none of them are as warm as snowmobile gloves.

Believe it or not, what works really well is to wear rubber/silicone doctors type gloves, underneath a pair of nice winter riding gloves. The rubber gloves trap the warm air from your hands and keeps them totally dry....your hands will actually sweat in there even when it is freezing cold.....

 

Funny, I was just looking at gloves. There are several gloves out there that use your 12V hookup to heat your gloves. There are also battery operated ones (some rechargeable) that are available. Try a search under battery heated gloves or electric heated gloves.

yeah i have a pretty good pair of ski gloves that i can use, but i was looking for a nice pair of winter riding gloves that may not be as bulky as ski gloves.

I'll have to try the doctors gloves under the regular gloves thing. My fingers were freezing the last time I was riding in the snow.

 

I wear thinsulate snowmobile gloves. At the end of the season they were half-off and I bought two pair. If it gets really cold I can slip on a pair of glove liners inside them. Mine are polypropylene. Silk is even better but costs more. It breathes really well too so your hands don't get sweaty.

One day I was plowing snow wearing old tennis shoes with holes in them and my hands froze. The next day I wore the same pair of gloves and a pair of winter boots and my hands stayed warm like they usually do. If you want to keep your hands warm you need to keep your feet warm too. And you need to keep your head warm or your hands and feet will both get cold. Just something to keep in mind in winter.
