I went to walmart to price a battery for a 2002 Polaris 500 sportsman the only one that was listed was for a predator would that be the same size battery for a 500 sportsman.I've always had good luck with batteries from walmart over any other store.When I was road racing my batteries always came from wally world we ran the batteries with no charging system at total loss and charged them up threw the day when needed lol I'll check the number on the battery so I can post it here.

 

i had one for a 01 scram 500,give me # and i'll check with my #. if its the same size + its turning over the same engine+same storage requirements.bring your old one,$9 core deposit last time i went.....

 

The battery #14A-A2 and the brand was energizer and was not a sealed battery it's one that you can fill the cells.Let me know Mechanike much appreciated.

 

I asked santa for a battery tender also if anyones wondering.

 

yeah manxman thats the same #.mine has a ES before it cause its a everstart made by walmart.id go with the energizer.mine was like $28.i don't know what walmart wants but harbor freight are selling a tender for about $10.

 

Just measure the H-W-D of the old battery and grab one with the same demention off of the shelf. the 500 because it has a decompression system it does not need the exspensive batteries with high cranking amps like some other ATVs.

 

The battery came to $49.99 after I returned the old one thought that was pritty cheap well it's the cheapest I've bought in awhile.

 

The battery looks to be the same size I much appreciate the info.
