I dont <u>need</u> new rims but i cant stand the stupid gold colored rims!!

I was just wonderin if anybody knew of any other rims that wont break the bank.

I dont want or need nothin flashy just black and maybe a little wider or more offset than stock.

Oh and is it possible to maybe paint or powdercoat these rims?

Any info/help is more than welcome and appreciated

 

You could paint or powder coat them. If so i would go powder coat. It is a lot tougher. I would chech ebay. YFZ, Banshee, Raptor wheeles will all fit it.

 

Yeah I would just paint or powdercoat them, but if you do expect the paint on the outer lip to get rubbed off after a period of time. You could probably have the gold sandblasted off and polish the rims back to silver, but that's a lot of work.

I didn't like the gold rims on my Warrior when it was grey/yellow, but I liked the gold rims after I changed the fenders to white/red. It almost gave it a nostalgic look, like Tri-Z colors from the 80's. (see pics)

The factory rims are hard to beat for strength. Those aftermarket aluminum rims (like the Douglus .090) will bend if you look at the wrong. The rims with the rolled edges like the ITP C-Series or the Baja wheels with the simulated beadlocks will hold up well to lots of abuse.

 

One of my buddies I ride with, painted the rims on his foreman from silver to black. He hit them with 4 coats of black spray, and then another 4 coats of clearcoat. They have held up well through some of the harsher conditions of swamp riding. The other option as stated by most replies already is to powdercoat the rims, but that can be costly. I would say spraypaint them and clear them, and see how you like it. If it doesnt hold up to your expectations, you can always go the latter route.
