how do u tell if your bike is to lean

the shop told me to go up n the pilot jet ,should i have went up n the main jet to?how is the best way to tell if u need to go up n the jets , without gettin it to rich and foulin the plug

pilot jet controls start up and idle.you need to check your spark plug it should be sort of tan in color.if it is white it is too lean.first off you need to get some spark plugs.start it up and get it to normal operating temperature with old plug in it.after its warm put a new plug in it.ride it how you normally do for 60 seconds.pull in clutch and kill engine at same time.pull plug and inspect its color.repeat after jetting.jetting usually requires only the main jet.

Did you complain that it is cold blooded on starts? That is why they told you to fatten the pilot. Usually, just going out a bit on the fuel screw, will do the trick.

nope , it has always started great , i bored it & was showin them my valves & he said it was already lean & with borin it id have to rejet , & thats the one they gave me
