Default My first JetMoto 150cc (2008)

Hi guys and gals I just put in an order for my very first quad from the site sponsor kidatvs.com. It is going to be a Christmas gift for my two boys, but I'm sure Ill get a chance to ride it a few times too. I just wanted to know what are some things I might need to do when it arrives? I read where some of you use lock tight on the bolts is that still a good idea on the 08 models? And exactly which bolts? The dealer said 10w-40 Oil and 91 or better grade gas. What about break in times and such? How often do I need to change the Oil or does it just burn up like my old Jet Skis? Is there any need to mix oil with the gas for the beak in time? Sorry if these seem like silly questions I just want to take care of the new quad as best as I can. I have pretty limited mechanical skills but I would love to learn more about engines and maintenance are there any good websites to learn about how to maintain it or something like that?

Hi charli3 welcome to the Jetmoto world!
Check out my site, I have a mod and repair page as well as a assessment page that may help you to see what you may be getting into repair wise. These are not name brand that you put gas in and ride forever with no cares. They will take some maintenance and a watchful eye on the operation of all the systems to ensure your kids safety.
Also search this forum for other 150 threads that will also help. We are on to 2 years with our 07 Jet 150's and they still are in good working condition but not with out some hiccups along the way. Others may disagree but I personally would not run 10w40 in any motor. I run 15w40 in my Jetmotos unless I'm riding in outside temp of over 100deg then would switch to 20w50. But again this is just my opinion.
