Confusion after bypassing speedometer

Confusion after bypassing speedometer
I bypassed the speedometer on my 2000 Sportsman 500. In 4wd high everything works. I have no 4wd in reverse unless I hold in the reverse over-ride. which is no big deal. And in 4wd low I have no 4wd at all. Also now when I put it in low the nuetral light stays on. Is this expected or am I missing something? Thanks.
