Ok, modded 400 ex owners, now's your chance to step up and help. Have stock 400ex clutches, updated to stiffer springs, motor builder said plates were good when motor was freshened but he changed the springs. Clutch is slipping now, gonna update to something better. Whats the hot set-up? Hinson kit with more plates and basket, and there trick side cover? WHat about an XR400 set-up and a XR400 2 piece side cover, heard it would work if the kick starter hole is plugged. Please give me many ideas.

I'm using the White Bros. clutch kit w/springs. I was having a lot of trouble with the stock plates warping. This setup seems to be working pretty good. Keep your oil changed, it will help.

The oil gets changed after every race and weekend of practicing. How about an aftermarket basket? Does the WB kit have more plates than stock?

I just haven't had to mess with my clutch yet. That is why I didn't respond.
