Default 2005 Grizzly backfires and stalls

I am new to ATVs. I have a 2005 Grizzly that will not stay started. As soon as i release the throttle it stalls. If i keep the throttle on, it backfires. Can someone give me an idea of what might be the problem? Is it bad gas?

my grizzly did the same thing 01. i took the carb. off and cleaned it, mine was popping back so hard that it would blow the rubber boot off where it goes into the intake.
i had a problem with my choke also sticking, i had to take off the black rubber o-ring so the piston would slide back, when i turned off choke. it seems to be fine now.

Sounds like some plugged jets. A good carb cleaning a fresh fuel would be a good start.

Good Luck!

if that dose not work, you may want to bump up your idol, and skrew your pilot jet in a bit. but soundls like classic bad-gas
