Default Tire diameter change effects?

Hello,
I have a 2006 Outlander 800XT.

I want to change to 26" diameter tires, the ITP Terracross XD. I am looking for much better snow traction.

Is there any downside to this? Any worries about the drive system etc??
Any of you used this tire in the snow?

All constructive comments are appreciated.

Thanks Fellas

Doesn't the 800 come with 26's? If not the change will be of no harm whatsoever. That's a pretty decent snow tire, not too agressive that it would just dig to the bottom but agressive enough to get some bite, good choice.

Hello,
Wow...thats a fast answer...thanks.

It came stock with 25" Carlisle radial tires.

I use the quad for hunting, get out and back, drag out animals with arrow holes. I'm to old to be dragging them out myself !!

Thanks for the input.

You can take all the "shootouts" and put them in one bucket and you won't have beans.

I have 26" Bighorns on my 06 Outlander and 26" Terracross on my wifes Grizzly 700. They both work good in the snow. The Bighorns took away a little of the "snap" from the Outlander but it has so much you won't notice it unless you are into drag racing. The Grizz suffers a little more but is OK, just use low range more often.

Going up one inch in tire size will take away a little bit of low end power and give you a little higher top speed...... but my guess is with that 800 you won't notice any loss on the bottom....... if you have a speedometer the MPHs will now be off a little bit too......
