My 2000 500 sportsman when cold wont start with the battery but starts right up with the pull rope.Every once in a while it will pop out the tailpipe with choke on and giving a little throttle when trying to start with battery. Its getting spark and I can smell fuel but it not soaking the plug.Ive replaced the plug.Putting a battery charger on it doesnt make any difference. any suggestions? thanks

 

maybe check to flywheel key to make sure its firing when its supposed to.
