brand new grizzly 660 problem?
#1
hey just picked up a brand new grizzly 660 and when i put it in park the light that is suppose to come on doesnt come on, it either wont at all or if i wiggle the whole machine it sometimes will come on. Another thing is when i go to put it in low gear it will just slip and and pop back out to high. ive taken it back to the dealer now but wanted to know what some of you guys thought. thanks

They need to adjust the linkage is all. A lot of Grizzes come from the factory with sloppy linkages. You can do it yourself if you want. Just remove the side panel on the tranny side, disconnect linkage at the tranny actuator. With key on , move actuator till neutral shows on the pod. Rock the bike back and forth to verify neutral. Turn key off. Then move the shift lever to neutral, and adjust linkage to remove slack. Reconnect to tranny actuator. Verify neutral and reverse lights up on pod when selecting either, boom, you're done.
I would grease the linkage with a waterproof grease at a every moving point before reinstalling side panel, and check anytime you go through deep water, this will help reduce gunk build up and corrosion.

I am sure they are right about adjusting the linkage, but on my Rhino and Grizzly both, I just blip the throttle a little while applying pressure and it goes right into low. I think the 09 is supposed to be an improvement.
