Who has latest and greatest EFI for DS now
#1
After all these years, I am reconsidering EFI for my DS.
It had been quite a while since I have kept up on where it is at, can you guys clue me in on the latest and greatest?
My motor is the way it is going to stay and tuned very very well, I merely want a system that automatically compensates for altitude and weather, as I ride 12 months out of the year and travel lots from sea level to mountains. The DS is the ONLY quad ever manufactured in history that ergonomically fits a 6'-8" guy, and there will likely never be another that does, so I have been riding it for 8 years now and will most likely be riding it for another 30 years or so...
It is time for some fresh upgrades to get into the now, I think a face lift and EFI are in order.
Thanks!

I should add, this is for riding, not racing.
And I am prepared to downgrade my piston to a lower compression to get away from leaded fuel as I am assuming that will be necesary?

the megatune system i use on the monorail is still the latest and greatest.i use the same program in my bike in flagstaff @ the cinders to domevalley raceway i have no oxygen sensor i run closed loop people over think things too often i have not programed my system in 4 years.Im quit sure if i wanted to compete with the builders that build exploding fast bikes. I could by reprograming my system but i would rather laugh at there fustrations of building bikes that can barely beat me and only last one day or event. While i run a old worn out ragged tvi sleeved antique. AND YET THEY CRINGE WHEN LIESH PULLS UP ON THEM.

What's up Chris long time no see!! Hopefully we meet again at Silver Lake this year. I don't blame you for going EFI. I just got a used Raptor 700 and EFI is great! Kind of neat to hear the thing start up when you turn on the key. I am curious too what EFI will work on the DS. Wonder how much they run.

There is someone in the process right now of trying to get the 700R EFI to work on the DS. Keep an eye out, it may be available soon.

This sounds like a good solution if you can get it to work. You'll need an external fuel pump and I wonder how all the electronics will interact???
The KMS is a Closed-Loop system (at least it was last time I saw it.)
The Raptor 700 is NOT Closed-Loop (i.e. it doesn't have an O2 sensor giving feedback to the FI to TRIM the fuel for the O2 level.)
I know Kehin makes Fuel Injection, not sure why they haven't built it for aftermarket applications. A very simple system could be sold IMO.
Have you looked at BMW to see what they offer?

I figured the KMS system would be perfected and pretty much a bolt on and turn the key deal by now, but I have not contacted them to find out...
I just want a system that bolts right on, from a company that has product support and can ship me replacement parts when things break, and has already had the kinks worked out by a professional. If such a company doesn't exist, then I am perfectly happy sticking with my HSR45 carb.
Does KMS still have a website, anybody have the link? I'll do a search...
Entomber, yes indeed I'll hit silver lake this year, whenever either of us begin planning lets be sure to post up so we can see if we can make eachother's ride!
