2001 yamaha kodiak on 4th cdi box
#1
See if anyone has ran across this on here, 01 kodiak keeps burning out cdi boxs. Found a few things wrong with wiring, wimch power for switch tapped into wrong wire. Last thing done was made new grounds installed into harness.
Custmer has decided to sell, our shop has bought it and considering buying it. I have though of buying it, me and another guy have ran down some possible soutions. We believe replacing the harness and regulator, should fix the problem if it hasn't already fixed itself with the extra grounds. Put a call into yamaha, with no return calls back on there thoughts.
Every so offten us tech's come across a really werid problem like this and the unit goes away with no idea if it has gotten fixed or not. Any thoughts post them.
thanks
