Plowing with 2X4 Honda
#1
Hi guys! I am new to this forum.
I have a question about plowing with 2X4 Atv.
What can I do to stop loosing traction. I am ok with 2 to 3 inch light snow but when it gets sludgy and heavy I got stuck. I know you might say why the hell did you get 2X4 , but that was what I can afford .
Here is the stuff I got.
2006 Honda Rancher trx350 tm6
Cycle Country 48 Inch plow with manual lift.
I am plowing sidewalks in Chicago.
Thanks in advance.

More weight and better traction on the back end. Maybe studs or chains.

i know your pain my 4x4 is out, so i tryed to plow in 2wd. one word Goodluck lol. i live in ohio and we got hit with alot of snow yesterday. i live on a farm so we put 2 100 pound bags of pig feed on both sides of my rear rack and ran 2 60 pound sand bags in the middle of my rear rack, and also let air outa my tires to get as much traction as i could but i barely made it outa the barn before i was stuck. i would try to put as much weight on your *** end as possible and get a running start... but i could be wrong

My neighbor here in good ole North Eastern PA plows with a 2x4 and it goes like a champ. He has about an extra 150lbs on the rear rack good tires all the way around and CHAINS. I have a 4x4 with out chains and he can smoke me plowing.

Thanks guys. Chicago is getting a blizzard tonight. I got 200 lb of sand and straped it on the back rack and lover the air to 3 psi (from 3.5). I will give it a try.
They want $50 per tire for chains.
Again Thanks.

Cheap fix,
go shop at a few local thrift shops or second hand stores and buy yourself a set of small car tire chains for $5-10 and cut them down to fit------problem fixed your honda will plow like crazy with chains.

Good idea . I might even buy the car chains new if i can find them. I think chains are not allowed in Chicago for cars. We have enough pot holles already...
