honda rancher 350
#1
Can someone tell me how to remove the pullrope housing on a 350 Honda rancher? I bought it used, but only had 275 miles when I got it. The previous owner said it had been in water a couple of times, so I have been told I need to remove the pullrope and clean it out.
Pictures would be nice also.
Thanks

Yes the rope looks more stained than dirty it doesn't have grit on it but I feel like there has been water in it before.
I got the bike for a steal of a price and I want to get it in great shape before I give it to my son who is 14.
Thanks for the reply, if you know how tho get the housing off that would be great.
Thanks again.

unless you are doing alot of muddin in/around water its not really an issue. if you go threw gritty/dirty water regulary the grit carried by the water can wear the seal between the pullstart and crank case. but a loiitle dirt wont wear the seal. people that build mudding ATV's pull off the rope and block it off.... nothing to loose sleep over
p.s. staining on the rope is normal

There was a lot of fuss about this a few years ago. Everybody was all worried about it...but funny how now you never hear about it at all.....
