Replacement Plug for Jetmoto 250
#1
Sorry if this is an old topic, but the plug specified in the owner's manual (C7HSA NGK) isn't right. Got a C7HSA (4629) from Kragen and the threaded shaft is way too small. Anyone know the right replacement part?
Thanks

Problem still exists. Got it going over the weekend after alot of cranking and with the idle turned up high, but it still cuts out at lower rpms. The mechanic I've been using is returning after the first of the month and will be experimenting with the float level setting to see if that gets us back to where we once were. If not, I guess I'll purchase the $80 replacement carburator you identified on my other post (thank you for that). Don't know what else to try at this point.
Thanks

The float should not be the issue, I have adjusted my 150's several times in the beginning. If it's too low it will not flow any gas, if it's too high it will overflow through the carb and drip when off. I will bet you still have a plugged jet passage. The carbs really are not that complicated, and unless it was a factory defect from the beginning it's not just going to go bad, it can get dirty and the inlet needle can stick or the jets can clog but it's not just going to go bad. Are you using the factory jets? Have you adjusted the needle from where it did run fine? Thoughs are really the only two carb mods that can affect running except adjusting the front air mixture screw. The side screw only adjusts the idle height of the slider at resting position.
I have never adjusted my slider needle so I believe it's in the middle slot. And I have not adjusted my front air mix screw so I am not sure where that is turned out to. Did it start easy and run somewhat fine on starting fluid alone?

Are you running the stock jets? Also at what elevation are you running the quad? If you are using the stock jets try turning the fuel screw out to 2.5 to 3 turns out. Maybe even 3.5 turns out.
Outofline... Thanks and while Id love to take credit for the logo...its the creation of the member here that goes by OneFlyCowboy... Very talented guy for sure... He is making me a orange and black version but let me borrow this until he gets it finished.

Outofline and MWQ: Appreciate you both getting back to me on this. I've been reading a number of past threads you've both contributed to to get some ideas and notice that new jets seem to be an effective upgrade and one that might help. I'll e-mail Raceway tomorrow if you agree that would be a worthwhile fix (is there a specific part number I should ask for?), and will forgo considering a new carb purchase which appears to be overkill. I'm in San Diego and run primarily in the desert so sea level is our elevation. Ibelieve the mechanic sprayed starter fluid into the air filter but I don't recall there being any noticeable difference when he tried to start it up. Same thing when opening up the mixing screw beyond the 1 1/2 turns recommended, but will try again.
Thanks

At sea level the stock jets are with out a doubt your problem...RaceWay knows about the larger jets... Id replace both the pilot and main jet.. The larger pilot jets gets rid of the cough and die syndrome that nearly all 4 strokes have stock. As a bonus if its warm out you dont even need the choke to start it cold. The larger main jet will help your top end power and let the engine run a bit cooler.
