VBike or Jetmoto 250

First of all, this is my first post, however I have spent alot of time over the last few weeks (month) reading various posts on the chinese or "off brand" quads. I have been a die hard Honda owner all of my life and currently own many Honda products (2 motorcycles, generators, lawnmowers etc.) That being said, I recently purchased two Kazuma 110 Falcons for my sons for Christmas from a local dealer in the suburbs of Chicago instead of a Honda TRX due to the extreme difference in cost. My decision was based on what I have read on these forums as well as going to check them out in person. For anyone looking for a similar youth quad, I have to say so far my experience has been great. They are nicely equipped, the quality and equipment has exceeded my expectations and after about 8 hours of use over a 10 day period on my 3 acres, they are running great with no problems. I took alot of peoples advice and spent time with loctite, NGK plugs, carb tuning, premium gas and several oil changes of Honda 10w40 oil in the first few outings (fair amount of shavings after a few hours of idling). We have ridden them pretty well, but have done so at a steady and deliberate pace while we are breaking them in. Sorry, but so much of this was helpful to me that I wanted to take a moment to give back a little.
The next question - my original plan was to pick up a 250/300 TRX for myself after I got my boys acclimated to their quads so that we could all go, but after looking and listening about some of the larger Chineses quads, the Jetmoto and VBike have my interest peeked in trying to save myself $2,500.00. I have read everyone's posts about both and it seems like the VBike generally seems to have more power and definitely a much better look to it, but Raceway/Jetmoto seem to have a longer history of service/support and a certain degree of quality. Has anyone had some time (few months of riding) with the VBike and the support from them for parts and responsiveness? Anyone figured out why there is such a large disparity in cost from the Jet 250 Sport to the V250-4? Or is Jetmoto starting to build a name for themselves and the price is starting to climb. I have read several posts with Jet owners admitting that the quad is good, but generally lacks power all the way around, which at 6"1" - 210, I want to make sure I am not bogging down while out on the trails.
Just looking to hear from someone with some time under their belt with either machine.

there is a couple vids lately on here that will show you. did you get your sons from metroplex in aurora ? thats where I got my sons redcat. anyway I see they now have a 250CC. from what I see the 250 would have plenty of power for a person of your size. Im 6-1 300lbs and rode a 150CC with out a problem. ofcourse always need more power. hope this helps

If you meant MetrixPro, yes I did. I saw some of the videos, but they seem to be of brand new ones, just got them sort of things. I am really looking to find someone who has ridden one fairly regularly for awhile to see how they were after 40 - 50 hours of some significant use. Especially, if they had to get a part, how was VBike. As I agree with everyone else on these forums. You are going to need parts (brand or off-brand) and that generally is one of a few good indicators of who you are dealing with.
I looked at the Tank 250 at MetrixPro and really liked what I saw, but the price was over 2K and at that point, it starts getting close to going the Honda route. I don't know how your experience with the Redcat and MetrixPro has been, but I had no problems at all with Vince and he spent quite a bit of time answering my questions etc.

Hi TwoBoysToys,I have had my Vbike for a few months with only about 15 to 18 hours on it.Do to being winter I havn't been out.
I have had zero problems with the bike.It has all the power I have needed I am 6'
250 lbs. Also I don't know how much a difference it makes but the carb is made in Japan not China therefor that could be a reason I have had no carb issuse such as many of the new Jet owners have had.I just forget to turn my fuel on sometimes lol.I think both the Jet and the Vbike are both neck and neck in the quality area and also I think both have the better support after the purchas.
When I made my decission to buy I liked the looks of the Vbike better as well as the Jap carb. The vbike had foot nets as the Jet didn't but I noticed that they do now.I paid 1200.00 for the Vbike and the jet was Hundreds more.I just could't see where there is 700.00 difference in the two bikes.
I wil say if Vbike didn't exist then I would have saved and purchased a Jet.
Tim at vbike has a grate reputation with his service I have not needed parts so far wich is a good thing but I have orderd some other things from him.
I am a member of another atv forum as well and he comes highly rated.
I hope to in the next month get some vids of the vbike in action on dirt and hills so people can get an idea of the true power this 250 brings.

I saw some of your other posts about it and that is what intrigued me. I started looking at them. The VBike seems very similar to the Jets in many ways (I know alot of this stuff is manufactured and mixed and matched to the various Chinese/Taiwanese/Import companies building these things) but is $700.00 less than the Jet 250 sport and by everyone's accounts, is bigger and quicker. That is where I was getting hung up on which way to go, why the big price difference? I am a pretty good wrench and can fix or tune most things on a motorcycle, if not, I have a neighbor who is willing to do so for a few beers in return, lol. That being said, I don't mind some time on the set up and prep to make sure it is good out of the gate, I just want to be able to get support and parts when I need them, not voicemail or we're out of stock.
I just keep seeing the same responses on the Jets, "good quads, good quality, not a lot of power". That is why I am leaning to the VBike, it is a little taller, wider, has what appears to be the better carb and better syling. I just wanted someone with time on one.
The difference in price can go towards the new trailer for the VBike, the two Kazumas and my wife's quad if I can talk her into it!
Thanks for the information, it definitely helps.

Actually, just a few quick questions:
I saw on some of the pictures that the battery box as well as the rear brake fluid reservoir are mounted underneath the rear fenders exposed a little (as opposed to under the seat or inside the frame behind the engine) any problems with that? I know pictures can be deceiving. Secondly, how is it with the 4 gears versus the 5? Do you feel like you are looking for that 5th gear?

Actually I like the battery box out.Taking the seat on and off to get to the battery is a bigger pain for me it hasn't beenan issue so far also scince the battery isn't under the seat you have better access to your carb thru the top.
As far as fifth gear I rarely get to 4th when we are out trailing I'm not much of a speed demon lol. When I run it out on the road I havn't pushed fourth gear to see if it is asking for fifth .I owned motorcycles all my life and don't mind speed on two wheels, four wheels I'm not as couragous yet lol

Got it, thanks. I two am not looking to do 80 miles an hour on a quad either, I have two boys that I would like to do some riding with for awhile and it is hard to do from a hospital bed. I was just curious how the gear ratios felt when you got it going. I really want something that will take me through some trails, some mud, small hills and farm land with some ummph to it. If I get a burning desire a year from now to go faster and steeper, I will upgrade and sell the VBike.
I just spoke with Tim at VBike, seems like a decent enough guy and willing to deal and put things in writing. I think I am gonna go with the VBike, I can't get away from the price and the good reviews on him with the support. I see that they are uploading parts to their website for each model slowly but surely, similar to raceway. He said the motors are Lifan motors, branded with the VBike logo.

The Jet Moto's carbs are also made in Japan, at least on the 250s. As for power, I do not know that the Vbike has more power than the JetMoto. These ALL have older technology, and while they can be made to run (see my vid), I would not say that out of the box one is faster than the other. I think the Vbike comes with a bigger sprocket, but that is two fold. If he gets out of the hole quicker, then he will lose some on the top end. Also, I AM NOT TALKING TRASH TO ANYONE, but I would put my JetMoto up against ANY Vbike or other Chinese Quad out there. It does not matter WHICH you get, be fully prepared, and expect to turn some wrenches. FWIW, my JetMoto has eaten up a Honda 250EX, and a Rancher 350 (semi auto, not that ES crap).
The problems that come with the carbs is the gel pack that they are shipped with. I do not know about VBike having it, but I did have to do some work to get mine running correctly. But since, NEVER a problem.
