Default XP Accessory Wheels w/ Aftermarket tires

There's been a few posts lately about the posibility of using the Polaris XP "Accessory" wheels to mount aftermarket tires without the use of spacers. I have confirmed this works on my 850 XP, with 26" Maxxis Bighorn 2.0s.

These wheels can be found as a wheel/tire set on purepolaris.com:

http://www.purepolaris.com/Det...386(PolarisPGACatalog)

I purchased the wheels only and mounted them up with 26" Bighorn 2.0s. I have to say the wheels look much better in person than on the website. They are nicely polished and have a deep dish look. The stock lug nuts work but will be deeply recessed in the accessory wheels...so you will need a thin-walled 17mm socket to torque them down.

The stock rear wheels are:
Front 14 x 6
Rear 14 x 8

The "accessory" rear wheels are:
Front 14 x 7
Rear 14 x 8

Obviously the rear accessory wheels are the same width as the stockers, however, the offset is quite different.

Here's the details (Rear Only):

26" Bighorns are taller than 26" terriblethons:

Stock Offset: approx. 6.75" New Offset: approx. 5.75"
The accessory wheel offset moves the wheel about 1" further away from the swaybar, allowing you to mount a wider aftermarket tire.
New Swaybar Clearance: approx. .5" to .75"

The Bighorns will stick out past the fenders. This makes sense, because the wheels alone without tires would increase the rear width by 2", so add in the additional width of the bighorns and the numbers add up.

Stock Width: approx. 46.75" New Width: approx. 51"

ManAtArms

What size 26" Big Horns did you use? Are they the same front and rear?

LE,

Dont' want to speak for ManATArms, and I'm sure he'll be by to clarify, but I believe they are 26 X 9 in the front and 26 X 11 in the rear.

lol..actually I am not...I've been waiting for Manatarms to get these on since he told me about his intentions to get them awhile back..
I'm looking to get some wheels with a little less offset and mount some Horns or terracrosses..and these look perfect..I plan to go ride in an area that has alot of large rocks and I have my doubts about the XTRs on the rocks and the Horn or Terracrosses will do fine in the little mud I ride..
BTW they look to be made Vision(they call them Sahara's) but they won't be available through them for a little while..and I don't know if they will offer the same offset..

What would you call the offset on the rears that ManATArms got... 5+3? 5+2? I'm starting to get confused with all these numbers. LOL

lol..yeah me too..
6+2 maybe? My 212's are supposedly 5+3..and those are about 1" less offset on the rear as far as I can tell,so that should reduce track width by 2"....he measured at 51 and mine is 53..so that is about right..

Great... that's what we need ANOTHER "offset" to add to the mix. LOL

EDIT: I need to take a break... my head is starting to hurt from all the numbers... your last post didn't help matters any. LOL LOL
