Default electric start not working help?

I have a 1985 honda 250sx atc, and the electric start doesnt work. so i have been using the kickstart witch works but i know with a little work the electric start will too.
here is the story on my three wheeler It was given to me from my grandfather and back in its hayday it fell off of a truck around a turn because it wasnt tied down. so now you can see whrere they welded the front forks back together and now i have no front brakes. but heres the thing it was sitting for 5 or ten years in my paps barn and my dad decided to take a look at it and figured out that the little connection on the right side, right next to the foot step it was disconnected so now i went and fixed the flat tires and got a new front tire because the old one was rubbing away on the front shocks. and got it fixed up nice. but the electric start doesnt work so that is what i am trying to figure out.

so if you could give me some information about any of the wiring or fuses anything
that might be a factor to why the button isn't working.
Thanks for your help.

Here is a link to a service manual, It will give you resistance specs, a wiring diagram and some helpful troubleshooting information. Please only download the manual that you need.
