Default Maxxis 4 Snow year round?

I like the traction, comfort and weight of my 4 Snow's so much I'm tempted to run them year round. I know they have a pretty soft sidewall and are only 2 ply but has anyone run these tires on trails & such, really anything other than snow? I do have concerns of dinged rims & punctures/flats but would love to hear form y'alls experience here, anyone?

Well, I've only used them in the snow/ice and they don't wear at all under these conditions. The rubber is super soft so I assume the wear in the dirt will be fast.

I have only run mine in the winter but of course have run into dry trails and gravell. i was trying to take it easy when i hit the dry stuff but still have to get on it in a few places and i was surprised - no nicks or anything. The tires are cheap - dollar wise anyway - give it a go and let us know how well they lasted.

Ya know, I think I'm definitely gonna do this. It's not the wear that concerns me, I do a bunch of asphalt riding connecting trails so I figure they'll be bald in no time but man, the traction is better than any tire I've used. Maxxis' website lists them at 12 lbs. while most of the other 22" tires are around 16+, so 8 lbs. of rotating mass is significant for sure. One thing I have noticed though, since they grow under throttle and spread out shift points it gives the illusion of a slight power loss which I know it is actually just the reduced gap in rpm between shifts.

I know of several people who have ran the 4 snows all year around. You just have to be extra careful on the rougher trails to not tear out the sidewalls. They do wear fast if you run a lot of pavement, but they have excellant traction on the trail. A lot of guys here use them to hill climb with.

They do wear fast on hard pack. How about 2ply knobby tires? Like the old ATC 3 wheelers came with. Those arent very heavy and wear much slower.
