need more power ,explorer 400l

Default need more power ,explorer 400l

hi there . my 98 explorer lacks power . bogges down and loses power about 3/4 throdle flat out or up hill any one know of some power addons to give it more pep .. reed valves or big bore kit ..do they help ..any help would be great

If your loosing power or bogging down sounds like you have a fuel or clutching issue. Clean and inspect the carb...inspect the clutch's for starters.

The 400 xplorer when running correctly isn't short on power or speed and should rip!!

Don't let the hp numbers fool you. Its all in how you get it to the ground. Clutching clutching clutching!

Default need more power ,explorer 400l

First thing check the secondary clutch ramp buttons.ThenCheck the compression first.If below 100psi do a topend and then replace the reeds and clean the carb.
