Default trailboss serial number location

i have a 1992 polaris trailboss 250 4x4. i need to find the serial number so i can register it in wis. for trail riding. i found the sticker by the headlight, but it is extremely faded and the only thing i can make out is the manufature year. can anyone point me in the right direction?

look on the frame where the shifter has its pivot point bolted on. there should be a tag there that will list it.
if not there look at the frame just behind the front left tire just infront of the footwell area. it could be stamped in there. older models are usually up by the shifter tho

i think i got it, but should it be only 7 numbers? i knew older quads only had short serial numbers, but didn't realize this short. thanks eggenz7. it was right by the shifter pivot, on the frame.
