NO SPARK NEED HELP
#1
Hi I have a 2000 xplorer 250 whit no spark issue. I have changed the ignition coil because when I tested it it had no continuity, I still have no spark tho. I want to get the plug cap checked just to be certain and also I want to test the stator coil can anyone tell me how to perform these test.
Thanks,
Ben

Just pull plug cap and ground wire to engine to see if has spark (5000 ohm cap) Get a manual before buying parts!! I doubt if we have a coil or cdi in stock! rarely is the coil or cdi cause of spark loss, usually trigger coil on stator or stator charge coil itself, can also be shorting from black wire from cdi to kill circuit. Pull this black wire and check for spark. If not then spec out stator. Customers bring in coils all the time for me to check on my coil checker, havent had a bad coil in years! If no one on line has specs, pm me and I'll look up specs for you at work. Good luck

Thanks for the good info. I have not been able to work on it anymore as of yet I have been super busy with other projects. Anyway I need more info I have never really worked on a quag before. The CDI I assume is the black box on the front by the oil reservoir? If so which black wire do I need to pull? Also where should I OHM the stator from? should i poke thru the wire insulation to OHM? Thanks for any help. Also it would be great if you could get me the specs.
