I'm sure I have asked this question here before. I have a 87 Moto-4 200. The bike runs great but won't recharge the battery. When it is running with the light on, the light is dim at idle but brightens up really good at higher rpms. With it running today, I checked the amperage going back into the battery and it read no different than when the bike wasn't running.

I can crank it fine using the pull rope, or leave a charger on it for a day before I ride it. It is more ofg an inconvenience than anything. What could be causing this?

 

You think it may be the voltage regulator?

Anybody got an idea?
