Default Need Advice

Obviously its hard economic times, so I'm not looking to spend a fortune. I need an ATV large enough (engine displacement wise) to plow some snow out of my driveway while also not putting a hole in my bank account. I'm definitely buying used, and it needs to be 4x4. What years, make/model should I be looking at? Automatic is a plus. And if you suggest a particular model, whats a good price range to be looking for it in my area (Massachusetts)? Seems like a lot of you guys find steals when it comes to used ATV's but since the WantAd went out of business around here, I don't know where to begin to look.

Thanks,
SummitStud

IMO the heavy weight and true 4x4 of a Polaris makes them better for plowing than any other ATV. A Sportsman 500 will literally plow tons of snow. A 400 which is actually 455cc will too. If you can find one 5 years old it should be about half the price of a new one.

I've managed to plow like two feet of snow at one time with my Eiger. it does real well for plowing, and I bet you could find a nice used one pretty inexpensive.

I won't chime in about what to buy, but craigs list is were I found my 01 Foreman 450ES. It had 61 miles on it. I got it with the plow for $3500 5 months ago.

I also sold my Arctic cat through craigs list last summer.

Since you asked I would buy a Honda foreman or Rubicon. Great durability and resale value. Just my thoughts.

The Honda Foreman's, will run forever when properly maintained. Either the newer 500 or even an older 450....
