noisy rocker

would a cupped rocker arm cause alot of noise from the top end? my exh rocker is cupped pretty good where it rides on the cam, the rocker to valve clearence is right but it just has a annoying loud tick. i do have a new set of rockers coming just wanted to see what some ppl thought.

Yes, it will cause a rattle. I replaced my rockers in my 250X for the same reason. You will need a tool to get the pins out. There is no way you can tap them out with a screwdriver like the Clymer says. I made a tool and will lend it to you if you want. Let me know. PM me.

thanks for the reply,
i already have the pins out, and my new rockers should be here tomarrow. i found my mechanics stethoscope and checked it out before i took the cover off and yep the rattle is def coming from them.....almost made me def using the scope.lol. the intake looks fine but my exhuast rocker has major cupping.

How did you get the pins out? Also, I don't know why your rockers wore out but the reason mine did is because the guy before me put a race cam and then heavy valve springs. I'm pretty sure that the heavy springs wore the rockers out so make sure you have stock springs or the rockers will wear out again. I went back to stock everything and am really happy. It still runs great and strong.

im from central ny, i can't wait to get the bugs worked out of mine(and for the weather to get nice enough) so i can go out and ride. i'v had a banshee in the past along with some dirt bikes but the trails around me are tight woods and it seemed the two strokes didnt really like it. this is my first 4 stroke that i plan on riding alot, i had a 200x but that was for doing wheelies around in my yard.
