I saw another thread where various Chineese mini quad sales had stopped, due to lead content. Also people can't get parts.
Granted, there shouldn't have been lead in the decals or paint, but I don't think I've ever heard of anyone injured or killed from lead content on decals on a vehicle, and I think the issue is a bit over hyped by the press.
Toys for young children is one thing (where the toy is likely to end up in the kid's mouth at some point), but if we are talking about protecting the kid old and large enough to ride an ATV who might suck on the stickers or lick the paint... this would probably be someone with an IQ low enough that they shouldn't operate power equipment of any kind.

My little brother had one of those pieces of junk and he was getting on it one day and he started to pull away and the throttle stuck open on him. he would have been seriously hurt if the grass was not wet. He was spinning in circles like crazy. We found out that the whole entire carburator poped off. Dont buy one if you love your kids.

Its not just the Chinese products....Its darn near everything from Japan made for kids under 12 also.
Just for the record.......I lived in China for about 7 weeks last summer. Girls out numbered guys about 2.5 to 1 as far as I could see. Must not be doing a good job of killing them off huh?
Anyone with a decent mechanical ability can keep a Chinese ATV running..

Atv's and dirtbikes, and all parts for them are included, for ALL manufacturers.
I believe the size was 110cc and below. Not sure on that.

You mean there will be no more 80cc class motorcross racing for the kids any longer?

After reading more, I see there is no actual cc sized listed. It's listed as any atv or dirt bike for anyone 12 and under.
Now we'll see an increase in injuries and deaths from young children on adult sized atv's.
Seems like they could have just added an extra warning label (like there's not enough already), Do No Eat.

I agree you will see more kids riding adult atvs if they ban small dirt bikes and atvs. Its not fair to young kids to ban small atvs/bikes, I know my kids really enjoy getting out and riding they love it and don't think they will be happy if they are not allowed to any more.. My 11yr old daughter rides a CRF 80 and my 7 yr old daughter rides one of those 110cc Chinese atvs and not once did I have to tell them to stop eating their atv/bike. LOL
