Grab Bar problems
#1
So i had to take off my grab bar on my 05 660 Raptor.
It was loose because the screws werent going in all the way. Now the things the screw went into were just spacers with threads in them so it wasnt much. Problem is they only sell those ALREADY INSERTED into the damn sub-frame. Gay i know just wondering if i should drill right through the frame and bolt it on with the other side using regular inserts to not squish it in the middle by holding a magnetic rod then putting the bolts through.
Another bright idea i came up with was getting 4 of those small spacers and tapping them, threading them in other words, lol so just wondering if anyone else has a better idea, or if they know a place that could possibly sell them

You have the same problem I have with those shi$%^* inserts in the subframe. I drilled through and used lock nuts and stainless hardware, it has worked better than the inserts. You can try threaded U-bolts and drill two additional holes per U-bolt into the 6 pack rack. I would use four U-bolts if you can get them in there, it is tight.

yeah i have the same problem, but mine wont stay tight no matter how tight i make them they will just lossen up. I was thinking lock tight but what if i wanna change out my grab bar any ideas on how to keep them tight?

Even the "permanent" red lock tite is removeable. I had loaded up the screw threads with that prior to installing harware in a brand new subframe and the insert spun free in the tube. I had to grind the screw off and push the insert down the tube. You are better off drilling through with a split washer and a lock nut. Ive got a few rides and a trip to the dunes under my belt and the drill thru with hardware is keeping everything tight. This isn't a long term test, just the info I can give you now. At least every now and then I can easily replace the lock nut if things rattle loose.
