05' kodiak 450 shifting problem
#1
My atv usually starts just fine, but my shift indicator lights don't all come on. I can hardly ever get the park light to come on. Because of this, I usually have to start it while in neutral. Is there a fix for this? Thanks in advance!

my 03 did this occasionally, when i shifted it, if i moved the shifter as far left as it could go and went through the gears, the lights would work again. see if that makes a difference, if not its probably a good idea to take it to the dealer.

Don't waste money at the dealer for something you can fix yourself if you are mechanically knowledgeable. You just need to adjust your linkage. To do that.
1. Disconnect linkage at transmission shifter.
2. Turn key ON with killswitch OFF, move transmission shifter fork till Neutral light shows on display. Verify Neutral by gently rolling quad back and forth. Turn key OFF.
3. Move Shift selector **** to Neutral.
4. Adjust linkage to take up slack. Reconnect.
5.Start quad, make sure shifter **** selects all gears without grinding, fine tune as necessary. Turn quad OFF before making any adjustments.
6. Lube linkage with good waterproof grease.
People who have done it says it takes about an hour.
