Default 27" tires on 2008 SP800 stock rims

Is it possible to mount 27" aftermarket tires
(ITP Mudlites XTR's) size 9inch - front and 12inch -rear
on the Polaris PXT stock rims? I am thinking the inside
radius of the tire, would it fit? What issues, if any?

If I can get away with just the tire purchase and keep
stock rims that would be great. But I don't want a 26"
tire.

Regards,

R'

even with a 9" tire you will need spacers in the front i put itp 589 m/s they were 28 high 9 inch wide with 12 inch rim on the stock rims for my 05 800 and i needed spacers rubbed on the tie rod boot just a little

so that will solve my problem? How much do these things run? And any issues with spacers?

Rtickwad....I did exactly what you are asking.....27" mudlites on the stock aluminum rims from my 800 deluxe. I put these on my wifes x2 (see pics in camera icon). I had to put on spacers (1.5") to clear the tie rod. You could move the tie rod like some others have and I haven't heard of any problems from that. I went with the spacers ( 4 billet aluminum spacers for $150) so the atv would have a wider stance and be more stable for the wife, less likely to roll.

BTW, my mudlites seem to get carved up and leak often. I am eyeing the maxxis mudzillas. They seem like they may have better sidewall protection.

You can turn the outter tie rod ends around, you will have to reset the toe in. I put 27'XTR's on the stock cast wheels on my 08 SP800,it works great, better than spacers that will put the tires out of the fenders, they will rub on tight turns, throw mud, and they put more stress on the wheel bearings.

Not buying it.....nobody's been able to prove that spacers do any more harm than turning the tie rods around. Mine never rub. The tires will stick out farther, throwing mud is what we like to do! LOL! If you don't want to get muddy, then stay home! LMAO!

Yep. 8" is the stock width. However, as you know, all tires actual measurements vary, but I would think any 8" wide tire would have enough clearance up front. The rears are not an issue. To be certain, you would have to measure your stock tire's width and compare it to the new tire width. Polaris didn't leave much play room there, that's for sure.
