I have 10" Mud Lites on aftermarket rims and just flipped the tie rod and it has worked well.

i think you could use 1" spacers w/out too much issue if you want to keep the stock rims. i do agree(even though i like my tires)that the xtr side walls arent as strong as i would like. personally i would put spacers on before i would change the steering. imo.

I have done it both ways. (With 10" wide front tires) I prefer flipping the tie rod ends. I still think (regardless of what others say) with the spacers on it is harder on the wheel bearings. Also they look ridiculous (IMO) I am running it now with the tie rod ends flipped and it works good. Just my .02

I've got 9" XTRs on stock aluminum rims with no clearance issues. Just 2 washers between the wheel and hub. No problems with over 3000 miles

I mounted 27x10 and 27x12 greenball devil 2's on stock.1" spacers on front were required.
