Default New question bout cluth and belt housing?

Im gonna start fixing things befor nice riding weather gets here. Ive been having problems with water gettin in the clutch housing while in deep puddle and the belt will start slipping till it dries out a bit. I can grab the case and kinda wiggle it a little bit, mabey 1/4 inch of play. I dont know if it flexible since its plastic or if its loose or cracked where it meets the crank case. Im hoping i just have a bad seal on the outer cover. But has anyone had any problems with there case where it mounts to the engine leaking?

Found my leak. Unfortunately its the seal from the cover to the crankcase. How do you guys get the drive clutch off with out the fancy polaris clutch puller (probly cost an arm or 2)? Any home remedies or does local auto stor have something that works?

get yourself a 9" long piece of 3/4" fine thread rod and some nuts. You can make a puller out of it.

So its a standard right hand fine thread then? I was thinking about a bolt and welding a piece of 1/2in steel rod to it.

Yes it a standard right hand FINE thread. Don't put a 1/2" rod on the end of it. You want the 3/4" to push on the end of the crank it-self not on the small threads in the crank. I used a 3/4" nut on the end and welded it to use a wrench to turn it. You may be able to use two nuts together instead of welding it. NOTE: when it comes time to put the clutch back on, be very sure that you torque the center bolt to spec. if you over tighten it, you may not get it off again, ever.
