Default scrambler 500

i got 99 scrambler and i got new primary and a team roller secondary on it

the primary has a red spring....
secondary i bought new not sure what springs or anythin it has

here the problem i got good bottom end but mid and top it looses all its power.. and whenyou let off gas it backfires??

is this the carb or the clutching and also tell me what i can do to get more power out of it... i got some money to spend on it if i can get it running perfect!!!

i could upgrade to bigger carb if you think it will fix my problem just give me all the info you can on what to do thanks

2 stroke or 4? I have the fmf pipe on my 500 and my neighbors despise it.

You need to find out exactly what springs and weights are in both clutches.
Clutching shouldnt make it run bad. That sounds like you need to clean your carb and maybe rejet. No need for a bigger carb.
On my recomendation and going that your motor is stock I would say go with a Dalton blk/white primary spring,10MB or 10RH weights, and if the TEAM clutch is a TAS98 a red/black spring for lowend power or a blk/yellow for mid range power but with this you will need !)AL weights and either a Polaris yellow or Dalton blk/orange primary.DONT mess with your clutching without a tach
you must keep the top RPMs under 6700 to be safe.

OK UPDATE!!!!!
i have switched the EVERYTHING BACK TO STOCK!!!!! i bought a k&n power kit.comes with the filter pre filter and jet kit!!!

i am going to jet it for a piped forwheeler so i dont have to pull the carb back off in couple weeks to rejet again...

so i am going to use the K&N needle and spacer and the aftermarket exhaust main jet... and readjust carb to there specs!!!and then put the filter setup on!!!

next question FTWFLH what should i do make my own clutch setup buying everything???? or should i just break down and spend the 170 bux for HPD's ATVCK5PC kit????? or does anyone no exactly what spring helix and weights are in this kit to order it all seperate???

or anyone got a idea of a clutch kit that will work good!!!

type of riding i do is messing around doing wheelies fast accel.out of corners on trails i DO NOT WANT TO LOOSE ANY TOP END WOULD LIKE to INCREASE top end if i can i have the 4x4 mdel so i cant change gearing

On clutching I would go with a Dalton blk/white primary spring,10MB weights,Aaen blue secondary spring or HPD violet.
Give Rick Ritter a call on the parts if buying new.
