if any mods are done i dont think they have to do the warranty work but there again it all depends on what kind of dealer you have to deal w/ as its them the polaris relaies on to tell if something is warrantied. imo

It all depends on the dealer, look at my list of mods on my 04.5 , I bought a 5 year warenty and they just got done replaceing the motor all under warenty $2700.00.. Thanks, Beri! You will get your case of bud-lite.

I hate to hijack this thread, but have a warrenty question also. Polaris wants $300 a year to extend my warrenty. Seems expensive. Is this really the cost???

My 36mo warranty cost $499.
It covered a full new transmission replacement 1 month into the extended war.
The part (asm/gearcase) was $1,433.29
I dont know what the labor would have cost, the dealer had the ATV for about 3 weeks. They had to take the whole rear end off, I am thinking the labor may have been almost as much as the part.
I almost didnt buy it , I usually dont buy ext. war.

Adding options usually not a problem, only when you ALTER machine such as mount radiators on front racks, snorkel em and such do problems arise. Have had SEVERAL extended warranties CANCLED because of this! Insurance adjuster will look at these and walk away! The customer will get the money back on the warranty minus time used!
