I just checked over in the Bombardier forum, they have a forum totally dumping on the Raptor. First off, do you think the "stock DS650" was really stock (the BAJA 2000 one )? You can't tell me that they didn't do some work somewhere on that machine before the race. Also, it did say that the Raptor did have a 500 mile lead on all the quads for a long time as well. I've been keeping it all in for too long, I try not to bash the "other guys", but, I just can't stand by and take this any longer! Are you guys with me on this one or what?

good point bartman, but consider this......

If you went out and paid $7399 for a quad and a year later one came out that was $900 cheaper, weighed 80 lbs. less, had better throttle response, looked better, handled better, could handle jumps better, and all the magazines picked it over yours wouldn't you be a little upset.

Point is they are just a bunch of guys or kids that are upset that they get spanked by all the raptors they compete against. As far as them winning the baja, even blind dogs get laid once in a while.

A Raptor did have a huge lead over all the bikes untill the aftermarket steering stem broke.
They are still looking into it b/ the DS was not in the lead at any of the checkin spots but they won.

 

I know they acted like they just drove it off a bombardier lot. I read 4 wheel action it had as many parts as the rest on it they act like there qaud is lighting fast when a raptor is as fast with the same mods (or faster) and act like if a bird pooped on it, it would fall apart. and who was right behind the ds with darn near the same avrage speed the "little" 440. There little bragging needs to stop. I want to see bombardier guys go on a mx track and tear it up like a 400ex or a raptor.

Hey guys, i see some bashing but its not by bomb forum members, i see a few posts picking at and making fun of the ds. Well i'm a "DS GUY", pick on me. Hurry to your keyboards, say everything you want to make your raptor sound like the best thing ever. Oh yeah by the way, you want to see a ds on a motocross track and "tear up" like the ?raptor? i have yet to see a raptor tear up a mx track. Sorry maybe i just didnt look hard enough...in that event you didtn look hard enough for the ds at the track. Dont get me wrong i think the raptor is a very sweet ride. I like it alot, but give the ds some credit. I mean get realistic. They both ahve strong points and basicly it comes down to the person on the seat not the machine itself. you all knows its true right? Personally i havnt even seen much bashing in the bomb forum about that raptor, maybe i'll have to go check it out, but im pretty sure ther is only 1 topic having to do w/ the ds and raptor and he states "i dont want to turn this into a bashing contest" so..?

I dont know i live in Wi and if a raptor wants to play then lets play, win or loose we will determin something.

i am not even going to start,i will say the ds is a coll ride but i don't want one,the ds is just to big for my style,it feels more like a lt500r than anything else,i liked riding both of them,and i almost bought one till i got some real time in the saddle on a ds and decided that i would wait another year for the new yamaha quad,and when it got here i bought the first one i could find,i wish these ds guys would stay in their forum,i don't look at any other forums except this one, but i am sure in every forum there is some negativity in them all about the raptor

 

i can't wait till this summer!last summer at the local MX track when the quad race was going on there were LOTS of 300ex's and a hand full of 400ex's and 1 250r and 1 DS.The DS spanked them all!from the starting gate he pulled away like nothing and took the finish with a nice lead, i know there are guys around here with slightly modded raptors and stock raptors and i want to see them race with the ds,all i can say is it will be a damn good race!and i will get my @$$ handed to me but i just wanna race for fun.the DS was stock also.The 250r was in either 1st or 2nd in the 1st race but rolled it and then in the following races he finished like 2nd or 3rd. still a very respectable finish if u ask me.
I am not trying to say the ds is better or the raptor is better because i want them both!but i will admit if i was given 7 or 8 grand and had to decide what to buy it would be the raptor because of reverse!
