Default what drive belt to use?

I am a little confused .. I own a 2000 sp 500 and a 1988 trailboss 250. When I try and look up which drive belt goes on each I get conflicting info from different sites .. one says 3211077 and another site says 3211069 ... does anyone have any idea which is right for which machine??

some older belts get replaced w/ a newer belt number is maybe why. hang on and i'll check what polaris says to use.
on the 500 it says both belts depending on the model number it is. the model no#A00ch50eb taakes the 069 belt.
ok does your 500 have EBS? if so 077 is the belt you want.

here is what the 98' TB says- 3211048BELT-DRIVE(5) Substituted by 3211077 1
which i said in the other post, sometimes they update the belt so the 98' can use the 500 belt as well. hope this helps.

My 2001 has EBS and the oringinal 3211069 belt. there is another belt I can use with cogs on both inside and out. My belt just has the inside cogs.

The outside top cogs are for more airs circulation in the belt housing.

I am at work now .. but I am 99% sure the sp has EBS .. but I know the trail boss is not .. the 077 is used for both .. which is what one site seemed to be saying.

Ok according to Polaris site http://parts.polarisind.com/Assemblies.asp

They say the same thing for my 01, I can use a 069 or 077.
