Pros and cons - how do you transport your Polaris and why?

 

my truck bed. made my ramps its jsut alot easier and quicker to haul in my truck rather than my trailer. I feel safer in the bed too

 

I pretty much ride it where ever i want to go on the rare occasion I do transport it, I do it on my trailer. Pros - no ramps to mess with, Cons - lower MPG due to hauling a trailer

 

IMO the ramps into a truck are much more dangerous because of their height, where as if you have a trailer that is only 16-20" you have a very little way to fall if something were to happen, also this may help your decision:

done both. depends on how many wheels went. if just my 2 wheelers, the trailer. got to becareful in a truck w/ awinch sticking out not to go thur the rear window.

 

One wheeler goes in the truck 2 or more, trailer.

 

I do both depending on where I'm going and how much gear I need to haul. Truck bed is usually the best. I bought a good set of folding steel ramps that were a great deal off eBay. They are longer and arched so you can load/unload without the safety concerns of a standard set of ramps. Investing in a good trailer is always a good idea too because then you have something to haul other things with and you can also pull it with the wheeler to do outside projects around the house.

 

Both. On some occasions we have 4 quads going on a trail ride. I can just fit my buddy's 2002 Sporstsman 500 in the bed of my GMC (shortbed 6'6") if we take off his roller fairlead from his winch. We can fit 3 quads on my 101"x12' snowmobile trailer. We usually run the ramps from the empty trailer to the truck so it isn't too steep. By myself, I use the trailer just because our quads are extra long.

 

Trailer:
1. Usually hauling 2 machines.
2. Feel more comfortable driving it up a tilt trailer than the ramps.
3. With the mudlites & spacers on don't fit between the wheel wells.
4. A bit leary of the winch coming through the back window, one of the guys did and it dont just crack a little.
5. Nice to have the extra room in case have to haul something else.

 

Whatever I can fit in the truck, a trailer if more than 2 go...
