Default 660 GRIZZLY-top speed 40mph

Brother in law tried a mud hole that was a little to much for his bike. Took a while to get it running and now top speed is only 40mph. Did pull the cover off over the clutch and cleaned it the best he could. What is the best way to clean these. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

check the transmission and see if there is still some water in there because on my 2001 grizz 600 it does the same thing if I take it in too deep water, or if you don't feel like doing all that just run it hard until the water goes away.

You guys may want to consider a transmission air intake snorkel to prevent water entering the intake because you don't want slippage at the worst possible time, that being in a hole or swamp.

FWIW I take my Kodiak 450 swimming many times in water over the fenders and have never had water enter the transmission thanks to my simple $20 snorkel.

Not much modification other than the hole in the plastic for it to come through and the connection at the factory air intake (rubber coupling or glue on threaded fitting).

The rest is just ABS pipe/elbows from the hardware store and I painted mine black with vinyl paint to make it nicer looking than just the black pipe with writing on it.

If after cleaning the clutch, it still tops out at 40 mph, check the inside of your primary sheave. Mud can get into it and prevent your clutch weights from rolling all the way and keep you at low speeds.

I'm not sure if the Grizz intake is the same as the Kodiak but here's my set up.
