Really? You didn't like the EBC's? I think the stock yamaha ones are crap I put only 500 miles on my stock yamaha pads before they were junk.... I have 600 miles on my EBC's heavy duty/sintered pads and they still have about 1/8"-3/16" worth of pad left! My brakes don't squeek as much either.. Granted each time I do ALOT of mudding, I spend an evening taking the brakes off the machine and cleaning/greasing everything again...

Some of the folks on ArcticChat.com have been 'rolling their own'. They buy a 3-4 ft piece of 3/16" thick, 1 inch wide Semi-Metallic Brake and Clutch Lining, part# 6224k115; from McMaster-Carr. McMaster-Carr. They cut to fit, and glue on with JB Weld or similar.

Total cost, $15.00 a set of 4, give or take.

You might want try it too.

I was told by the guys in the service dept. to take the pads out and grind a bevel on the leading edge of the pad. They said that it does help but will not get rid of the squealing compelety. I haven't had the chance to do it yet, but when I do I will post the results. DOG
