2000 Warrior won't start--possible carb issue?
#1
I just bought a 2000 warrior that had been sitting in the back of a garage for sometime. Before I tore the carb apart to rebuilt it, it leaked gas out of the bottom drain, but still fired for a second or two. I wanted to see it fire before I had bought it.
I bought a carb rebuild kit and rebuilt it. I did not change the needle because for some reason they must of forgot to pack one with my kit or I lost it and didn't know it. Anyways I blew out every orifice of the carb and sprayed it down with carb cleaner. It was pretty nasty...the float was stuck and it was very badly varnished from old gas sitting in it. I put it back together and it won't fire at all now. I have very good spark. I cleaned the plug and put it back in. After I tried to start it again I took it back out to inspect. It didn't look as wet as I would expect. There was sort of an oily residue on it.
Any suggestions?

what all did the rebuild kit contain? also i would use a new plug, when carbs are that dirty and varnished you literally will have to spend an hour or so cleaning it if not more, to make sure its got every spec out of it, thats all it takes 1 spec that you cant see to cause a problem, also theres a good chance the fuel petcock might be dirty and gummed up i would take the tank off and lean it to the side and pull that off and check that...
