Anyone tried Plastic Renew advertised in Dirtwheels

I tried it. If you have the time and the patience it will work for you. You have to sand the plastic with 4 or 5 different grades of sandpaper to get it smooth, then you apply their polish treatment. It worked pretty good, but it was a lot of work. I wouldn't suggest it unless your plastic is really trashed.

I bought some Plastic Renew. The plastic must be sanded with progressively finer grades of sandpaper to remove scratches, then the chemical is applied in 3 or 4 coats, waiting a short time between coats. It is hard to blend it iin evenly with the surrounding shiny plastic. Someone suggested that Mop n Glow has the same effect at a cheaper price.I think it's about the same formula. It's an improvement over the scratched area, but will not make it look new.

Sparkster I see you are from Canada. If you want Plastic Renew you'll have to go to the U.S to get it because they won't ship it into Canada because of some sort of chemical it contains. I know I tried to order some, judging by everyones post it doesn't sound to good.

Havent tried this on my fenders yet (You wanna be my guinea pig ?!? ) If you scratch your car you can use a wax crayon of the same color to fill in the scratch. It is waterproof and works alright on smaller scratchs and chips. You need to buff it lightly afterwards too. On my atv I just take a razor sharp knife and smooth the edges of the major gouges. You could probably also use floor wax to fill in the gouge afterwards, but again I havent tried this. I am currently looking into using the wax that they use for fiberglass molds. I will try it out and post if it works and the name of it. If it does work it should easily add 5mhp for lack of wind resistance!!

The best stuff i've found that works on atv plastics is this cheap stuff they sell at the auto parts stores that's made for tires...to make them shiney. It's called Black Magic tire shine and it works great. It's this thick, clear liquid and it does fill in alot of the smaller scratches and makes everything shine.
