2007 420 fan not coming on

Default 2007 420 fan not coming on

after taking a little ride through some mud,my fan will not come on.i tried to free spin it with my hand and the mud had it stuck.so i cleaned it all out,now it will free spin,but still will not come on.any help?ideas or suggestions?

Has the machine overheated?

In normal conditions the fan will rarely come on.

JeffinTD is correct, I think mine has only came on twice that I can recall.

yes it has overheated.red temp light comes on and still no fan.

Have you checked the fan fuse?, it could have blown. The fan motor may have burned out. Run 12 volts from battery direct to fan, if fan runs, check sensor. If not, fan motor is toast.

Yeah, then that would be my next step, too.

Take the fan out and apply 12v and see if it runs, and check the fuse.

I think the 420 has both a coolant and an oil temp sensor, so I'd check to make sure the connectors for them are clean and tight.
