Grizzly 700 water pump
#1
This question is for a riding buddy of mine. At Muddy Gras last year he rolled it over in a mud hole and swamped the motor with pure mud. He had the engine completely rebuilt with a bigger bore piston, cam, fuel controller, HMF muffler and CDI box, and Outlaw 29.5's. For a while he had a problem with overheating. We moved the stock radiator up to the front rack and no more over heating. However shortly after the water pump began leaking. 2 day before Mud Nationals we changed his water pump seal and thermostat. 3 days into Mud Nationals it started pouring out the bottom weep hole. Not a drip but a solid stream. We talked to a dealer in Brenham, TX and he said that the engine is making more heat than the water pump can keep up with and it is causing the water pump seal to get hot and fail. Is there a company than makes a higher flow water pump fin that will fit in the grizzly or maybe the raptor?
