2003 sportsman oil change?

Default 2003 sportsman oil change?

after I drain the oil,and put the plug back in,and the new oil filter in,do I put the 2 quarts in? the the older style like 02? in other words do I check the oil with the dipstick screwed all the way in to check it??? THANK YOU!!

If you dont drain the sump,then dont dump 2 full quarts in! 1 and 3/4 quarts,crank and run for about 3 minutes,kill it and check with dipstick screwed in,add if necessary to full mark. If sump is drained completely along with tank,from my experience 2 full quarts is right on! I use a 2 quart oil container I fill from a 55 gal drum and 2 quarts usually on the nose!

ok thanks,just making sure we still check it with it screwed all the way in! where the 03 the changed the location of the dipstick...
