I'd also watch what you do. When i was in for my first service earlier this week I asked the dealer what I could and could not do to void the warranty.

On my Sportsman 400 I've gotten a Hot Seat exhaust, Hot Seat clutch kit, K&N filter, opened up the airbox and rejetted the carb. The Hot Seat exhaust sounds good and isn't that loud, but it didn't really give me that much more power.

It's not a bad investment, but a pipe on the Sportsman doesn't give you the same results as a pipe on a 450 racer. The exhaust sound kind of reminds me of a quiet Harley Davidson motorcycle, it has a nice mellow rumble to it.

If your looking for more power yes the pipe, clutch kit and K&N air filter will help. But if your looking for stump pulling power gains your wallett better be ready. For all you sportsman 500 fans. I had a 04.5 500 sp and I was looking for MORE. ( head porting, cam, bored carb with dynojet kit, fully piped, clutched, high performance cdi, 28" mudzilla's, lift kit and full set of axle systems axles because the first mud hole I went into with those heavy zilla's broke 2 front cv's and the front diff 1400 bones to replace but then you couldn't break it. So open your wallet and be ready to spend approx. 2500 to 3500 dollars ok. Happy Trails.

Sorry, if you want the max from your pipe you need to port the head and that would make it equal to putting a pipe on a 450 r model.

Only the H.O carb models, there the exsact same motor the scrambler uses, even the efi is the same motor it just has a throttle body instead of a carb so some of the mods will work.
