FIRST OFF LET ME THANK ALL THE YAMAHA GUYS. YOUR POSTS WERE ALL HELPFUL AND NON DISCRIMINATING, EXCEPT FOR THE IDIOT THAT SAID "YOU COULD NOT GIVE ME A HONDA". DUDE, YOU LOSE ANY KIND OF RESPECT WHEN YOU SAY SOMETHING AS STUPID AS THAT. ANYHOW I PURCHASED THE TWO HONDAS TODAY AFTER HAVING DRIVEN ALL 4 MODELS. WHAT TOOK ME BY SURPRISE IS THAT AS SOON AS YOUR THUMB TOUCHES THE TROTTLE IT IS INSTANT POWER BECAUSE OF THE LONGITUDALLY MOUNTED MOTOR. IT ALL CAME DOWN TO THESE ESSENTIALS:

YAMAHA:
1.MORE STYLISH
2.A BIT MORE OPTIONS
3.COOLER NAMES(IRRELIVENT)
4.JUST GREAT MACHINES

HONDA:
1.SOLID
2.NO FRILLS
3.RELIABLE

I WALKED OUT THE WITH BOTH FOR $8150.00 NOT INCLUDING SALES TAX. WHEN IT COMES DOWN TO IT MONEY WASNT AN ISSUE,AND DEPENDABILITY OF EITHER MANUFACTURER. IT WAS MORE OR LESS A WASH. THE HONDAS JUST SUITED OUR NEEDS. I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR YOUR THOUGHTS.

THANKS HENNHOG

One question:
Why are you on the computer when you should be out riding?!? Those things have lights you know! Good for you, I know you are happy and will be served well by both machines. Now go have fun and BE SAFE.

$8150????? Man I can't get over the difference in pricing and the dollar value between here and the states. Here in Canada, either one of those bikes would cost you almost that much, plus the sales tax, which is 15%! Don't get me wrong, I think Canada is the greatest country in the world, but I wish our buck was on par with yours.
One other thing that was mentioned that I wanted to comment on.... it was mentioned that Honda was more reliable. I'd just like to point out that that reputation was made by the old ATC engines, Big Red, etc, that aren't even made anymore. The new machines with their new technology are no more reliable than anyone elses..... well... maybe polaris. {JK Polaris guys ]

Well it,s bad but not that bad ,$8000 can buy a Artic Cat,Suzuki and Polaris Magnum 500 4x4 around here before taxes. Remember $8150 US=$12250 Canadian,I could almost buy a 350 4x4 and 250 2wd for that if I looked around.

I'm glad you researched your choices then broke it down by what YOU wanted . That's great to hear. Myself , I seen the Raptor in a commercial and instantly I was HOOKED on it. It haunted my dreams, I imagined climbing all these hills on the way to work, In the morning I would envision it riding across my cereal bowl, Raptor this, Raptor that, RAPTOR RAPTOR RAPTOR. RAPTORFREAK is about all. No it wasn't that bad but I wanted the quad very badly and I didn't even check out the competition. I guess you can say love at first sight or ride.
