hey all, im new to this and i have learned so much here so far. my problem with my 10 yr old sons 3month old blue baja 90 atv bought from canadian tire is it boogs down at 20 km per hour. when we first got it, it would go 40 kph. there was no mud riding, no water riding, just normal riding to break it in. i use top grade fuel (94) and have not yet changed the oil it came with. it starts and idles first time every time. any help would be great, my son thinks i can fix anything, so i dont want to let him down (lol). thanks for any help.

 

Try cleaning the carb. Sounds like it could be a jet plugged.

 

first of all I would change the oil, then i would start with cleaning the carb real good and see what happens. and make sure the air filter is clean. also make sure the boot between the carb and cylinder isnt cracked and that the clamp that holds the carb to the boot is tight. heres a few things to check.
