Default 87 warrior cracked intake boot.

while cleaning the carb on my new bike the other day i noticed that the intake boot from the carb to the head was rotted on the outside and cracked. i put it back on and it seems to run fine even though it is cracked. i have a new one on the way but i was just curious if it would cause a loss in power or anything? thanks

Yeah, it could make it run like crap or not run at all. Mine on my Grizzly popped off the other day on a trail and I had to be towed home.

yeah well i noticed if it is idling and you go from idle to full it will sputter. but when you ease into it, it is fine. oh well i will just see if it fixes it when i replace it.

It may run a bit lean with the crack. Most likely you will notice a sputter when running through water if it splashes up to the intake too. Good choice to just replace it.

Most warriors will sputter if you go from idle to full throttle. I would still replace the boot it could cause problems in the future.

I had one on my 88 and it would sound like it was backfiring (probably was) and it ran like crap so i replaced it pretty quick!!
