Warrior Chain tightness
#1
I was just riding my warrior and to me it feels like there is a lot of slack in the chain. there is about 2 inches of play up and down. i don't know much about atv's so i was hoping i could get some feedback as to how tight it should be

so your saying theres 2 inches down and 2 inches up?? totaling 4 inches??? if so you need a new chain it has streached alot. if your saying you have 2 inches total play your alset. you can go a little tighter if you want but by the time you sit on it it your weight will tighten it up some also. but if you go to tight it will cause premature wear on the sprockets and chain.

ok then it will be more when your off. there should be 2 total when the quad has no passengers on it. depending on how much the chain has been adjusted already. you may be in need of a new chain. if so it is highly recomended that the chain and sprockets be done as a set.

if you get a new chain and sprockets its also a good idea to decide whether or not you want a +1 bigger front sprocket for a little more top speed and longer gears or a -1 tooth to make it a little snappier and better in the woods and such. i recommend sunstar and jt sprockets, d.i.d. and rk chains, if your happy with the way your gearing is then just leave it at stock ratio when you replace them.
